(Undated) – The national average for a gallon of gas remains largely unchanged from the start of the week. According to GasBuddy.com, the current national average is hovering around $3.61 a gallon, up just a penny from Monday. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.88, down two cents from Monday’s average. In Indiana, the statewide average is down four cents from Monday to $3.56 a gallon. Mississippi drivers continue to pay the lowest price in the nation with a statewide average of $3.02 a gallon, down a penny from Monday. California drivers are paying an average of $5.20 a gallon, down three cents from Monday.
