(Undated) — If you’ve been in Walmart recently, you’ve no doubt noticed some changes. The Robinson store is among several that are undergoing an extensive remodel. The retail giant announced plans to remodel 11 stores across the state as part of a larger $1 billion nationwide initiative to modernize and enhance shopping experiences. According to Walmart, the updates will feature “bold new signage” and “eye-catching displays” designed to better showcase products. The stores will have expanded department sections with new items, with a major expansion to online pickup and delivery. Pharmacies will have wider aisles for navigation and a new private screening room and checkout areas. Walmart says this year alone, it plans to revamp a total of 650 stores nationwide, including locations in Fairfield, Flora, Olney, Harrisburg, Rantoul, Jacksonville, Palatine, Pekin, Beardstown, Danville, and here in Robinson. Glenda Fleming Willis, Walmart Senior Vice President for the North Business Unit, says, “By investing in our stores and associates, we are not only improving the shopping experience but also reinforcing our commitment to being a vital part of the community’s fabric, helping to build a brighter future for all.”
