(Oblong) — The Oblong Lady Panthers Softball Team got bulldozed by Mt. Carmel yesterday in a 17-1 mercy-shortened four-inning contest. Mt. Carmel jumped out to the early lead with two runs in the first and five in the second before exploding for ten runs in the top of the fourth. Zya Bricker took the loss for Oblong, pitching four innings, giving up seventeen runs on fifteen hits, striking out just one, and walking four. With the loss, Oblong falls to 4-6 on the season. They are set to be back in action Monday for a road game at Martinsville. The OPH Boys are set to be in action this afternoon for a 4 p.m. first pitch against Vincennes Rivet. The RHS Baseball and Softball Teams are also slated to be back in action today. The RHS Girls will face Newton on the road in a 4:30 p.m. first pitch. The RHS Boys will also face off against Newton this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in Newton.
