Dorothy Sue (Dottie) Nolen passed on Friday, May 9, 2025.
Mrs. Nolen was born in West Frankfort, Illinois, on August 13, 1931, to Ora Mae and Ruben McElyea.
She is survived by daughter, Jody (Dennis) Gieseke, son Tim (Donna) Nolen, granddaughter Kristin (Darin) Doty, grandson Doug (Joanna) Nolen, and three great-grandchildren – Ella Doty and Layla, and Jack Nolen.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Ora and Reuben, her husband, Jack in 2010, her daughter, Karen in 1954, son-in-law Dennis Gieseke in 2012, and two sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Nolen married Jack Nolen on December 8, 1948. They were married 62 years before his death.
Mrs. Nolen attended and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Robinson, Illinois.
Dorothy graduated from West Frankfort High School in West Frankfort, Illinois in 1948. She was employed as bookkeeper for Nolen-Miller Electric Company in Robinson, Illinois. She was later employed at Sears and as secretary for the First Baptist Church of Robinson.
As per her request, Mrs. Nolen will be cremated. A private ceremony for immediate family will be held to honor her memory.
