Rod Stewart confirms Faces reunion with Ronnie Wood for Glastonbury 2025

Rod Stewart has confirmed that his Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood will join him on stage at Glastonbury 2025 next month.

The singer-songwriter is set to appear in the coveted Legends Slot on Sunday afternoon at this year’s festival – which will be headlined by The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo (see the full line-up so far here).

During a new interview on That Peter Crouch Podcast, Stewart explained that he was still in regular contact with the Rolling Stones guitarist. The pair previously worked together in Faces (fka Small Faces), alongside drummer Kenney Jones, and The Jeff Beck Group.

“Woody, I do [speak to] a lot,” Stewart said. “Just recently, ’cause we’re gonna do Glastonbury together.” Listen below, at the 12-minute mark.

The singer headlined Glastonbury back in 2002, with Wood then topping the bill at the festival with The Rolling Stones in 2013.

Faces, who have been hinting at a comeback in recent years, revealed last month that they had recorded “about 11 tracks” for a new album – which would be their first full-length effort in over 50 years.

“I can’t see it coming out this year. But I can see it coming out next year,” explained Kenney Jones. “Everyone’s doing different things. We do little snippets [of recording] here and there. Then all of a sudden, The Stones are out [on tour] again, Rod’s out again…”

At around the same time, the drummer was asked whether he and Wood would be joining Stewart for a Faces reunion at Glastonbury. “I’m keeping that very quiet,” he laughed in response, per Somerset Live.

This came after Stewart’s daughter – model and singer Ruby – sparked rumours of a Faces appearance at Worthy Farm. Last December, Stewart shared a photograph of himself, Wood and Jones together. Ruby commented: “Glasto reunion?”

In 2023, NME asked Wood whether fans could see another Stones headline set at Glastonbury. He replied: “Me, I’d love it. I think it’s a must. If not next year, then… If not the Stones, then the Faces.

“It’ll be me, Rod and Kenney. That’s not out of the question, you know. I know they want to do it…”

In 2020, the trio regrouped to perform a live rendition of their song ‘Stay With Me’ at that year’s BRIT Awards. The following year, Wood said the fellow members had recently visited his new London home, and that they’d “been recording some new Faces music”.

Around that same time, Steward teased that he, Wood and Jones had completed “15 tracks that are extremely worthy, some old, some new” (via Louder), and Jones made a similar statement elsewhere: “It’s a mixture of stuff we never released which is worthy of releasing and there’s some new stuff which is really wonderful… Rod is writing the lyrics and he’s really keen on it.”

Stewart said late last year that it was “a great honour” to be taking on the Legend Slot at Glastonbury, but explained: “It’s going to cost me a fortune to do it – $300,000 [£222,071].”

He added: “I’ve got to bring all my band back from America, of course, Glastonbury don’t pay for that. But I don’t care if it cost me $1million, I would have done it.”

Glastonbury organisers have been drip-feeding separate posters for the festival’s many areas, stages, and venues in the run-up to June – including The ParkWoodsies and GreenpeaceCheck back here for the latest Glastonbury 2025 line-up news as we get it.

Organisers recently shared a new and updated map of the entire Glastonbury site for this year, showing various changes.
