ABBA celebrated the third anniversary of their acclaimed Voyage show by introducing new songs to the setlist and hosting a VIP party that saw a special performance from Benny Andersson, Elbow‘s Guy Garvey and Elvis Costello. Check out footage above.
The cutting-edge ABBA-tar show has seen the same structure since opening in East London three years ago. To mark the anniversary, the Swedish pop icons announced that they would be revamping the setlist.
Last night’s premiere of the new iteration had band members Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad in attendance at the purpose-built ABBA Arena at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, alongside the likes of Elvis Costello, U2‘s Adam Clayton, Guy Garvey, Richard Osmon, Myleene Klass, Rob Brydon, Mahalia, and Eleanor Tomlinson. It saw the introduction of ‘Super Trouper’, ‘The Name Of The Game’ and ‘Money, Money, Money’ into the set, while ‘When All Is Said And Done’ was removed. The new songs were rapturously received by the hardcore fans in attendance, and also came with stunning new choreographed visuals.
“When we first opened we never imagined that we’d still be in London three years on,” said the band in a statement. “We’re very grateful that so many of you have joined us. Of course, the reason for us being able to sustain our concert for so long is because of our incredible audience. As we say in Sweden… Vilken resa!”
The VIP backstage afterparty saw Andersson perform on the piano, while Garvey and Costello also treated the crowd to a surprise collaboration. Swipe through below for footage.

Speaking to NME about the recorded setlist in 2023, Björn Ulvaeus said: “We did motion capture more songs that we have in this concert. There are songs in the pipeline which might be animated and ‘ABBA-tarred’ in the future. Who knows? There might be a new song every now and then somewhere – but I can’t give you any details as of right now.”
The ABBA Voyage setlist was:
‘The Visitors’
‘Hole in Your Soul’
‘SOS’
‘Knowing Me, Knowing You’
‘Chiquitita’
‘Fernando’
‘Super Trouper’
‘Mamma Mia’
‘Does Your Mother Know’
‘Eagle’
‘Lay All Your Love on Me’
‘Summer Night City’
‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)’
‘Voulez-vous’
‘The Name of the Game’
‘Don’t Shut Me Down’
‘I Still Have Faith in You”
‘Waterloo’
‘Money, Money, Money’
‘Thank You for the Music’
‘Dancing Queen’
‘The Winner Takes It All’
In a five-star review of ABBA Voyage, NME concluded: “Ageing rockers and poppers are bound to imitate the idea, but it’ll be a struggle to come close to the experience of ABBA Voyage. We for one welcome our new ABBAtar overlords, if only for giving these songs back to us in a totally new and joyful way. As the digital Anderson concluded: ‘Without a song or a dance, what are we? That is the question’.”
ABBA Voyage continues at the ABBA Arena in London. Visit here for tickets and more information.
To date, the show has contributed over £1.40billion to the UK economy, with its own revenue topping over £100million.
Speaking to NME about the future of ABBA Voyage, Ulvaeus promised that the show will eventually travel around the world – with the venue and setup taking two years to build from scratch: “We hope to stay in this venue for as long as we can. We hope they’ll have us for many years, and we might build other replicas of this in other places: Asia, Australia, North America. There are lots and promoters and cities that we’re talking to at the moment about that.”
