Two Longtime Oblong Employees Retire

(Oblong) — The Village of Oblong is saying “come back and see us” to a pair of long-time employees as Dale Davis and Gary Lanter are both retiring. For the past 34 years, Dale has been the smiling face behind the counter for many of us when we brought our water bill to the Oblong Public Works office or called the office for assistance. Gary has been the guy fielding late night and weekend panicked phone calls when the water stops working, for whatever reason, serving as a part of the Oblong Public Works Department for the past forty-three years. According to Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, Dale will be leaving the keys to the new OPW Clerk, Sessaly Miller.
