IDNR Offering Free Fishing Days Next Weekend

(Undated) — The IDNR is giving the public a chance to fish for free. They have set June 13th through the 16th as “Illinois Free Fishing Days 2025.” They say during those four days, anglers can fish without purchasing a fishing license, salmon stamp, or inland trout stamp statewide. The IDNR says the goal is for non-anglers to discover or rediscover the fun of fishing and to introduce children to the activity. For those looking to fish outside these days, a $15 fishing license is required by the state for anyone over 16. It can be purchased at various vendors throughout the state or online.
