CCSO Taking Deputy Sheriff Applications

(Undated) – The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a new officer. According to Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, the department is currently accepting applications for the position of part-time Deputy Sheriff. Rutan says he or she will be a commissioned officer who will perform traditional law enforcement duties throughout Crawford County. He says that while preferred, law enforcement academy is not required for applying. If an applicant is selected, there will be a law enforcement academy requirement, and a power test will be administered before attending said academy. There will be a one-time written test next Wednesday, the 18th, at 5:00 pm at the Crawford County Forest Preserve. The CCSO reserves the right to accept and/or reject any application and is an equal opportunity employer.
