(Undated) — There’s been no lack of rain this spring, which has been, for the most part, good for gardeners. U of I Extension Program Coordinator, Sarah Ruth, says this trend will eventually dry up, so you should be ready to change your strategy when things start to dry out and it’s not just your flowers and vegetables that will need watering.
Ruth cautions that too much water at one time could harm the plants as well, so make sure you pay attention to how much you are giving them when watering. She says for most plants, trees, and lawns, an inch of water per week should be sufficient.
