Michael Lynn Shidler was born February 23, 1970, in Robinson to Ernest Andrew “Andy” and Sharon Lynn (Rich) Shidler. He attended Community Unit #2 Schools and Graduated Robinson High School with the Class of 1988. Mike was a craftsman, working with his father in the Carpentry business. He was skilled in a number of areas and enjoyed being the “Second in Command” on the jobsite. Mike also worked at Toyota Boshoku in Lawrenceville, IL for several years,
Mike died of his injuries in a vehicle fire near the entrance to the Sunrise Coal Mine, North of Russellville, IL on June 4, 2025.
When he was not working, Mike was attending a concert because he loved music, music of all kinds. Fatherhood was the event that changed Michael the most. He was devoted to his daughters, wanting the best that life could give his little girls. As Mike got older, it seemed trouble followed him around and caused him many hours of doubt and dismay. But a visit with his girls would put him back on track and things would be normal for a time.
Surviving Mike are his two precious daughters, Emily Lynn and Lillian Rose Shidler, both of Robinson; his parents Andy and Sharon L. Shidler of Robinson, IL; his soulmate, Kim White of Palestine, IL; his sister, Angie (Rick) Johnson, Robinson, IL; his sister-in-law, Jevell Shidler Chapman, Willow Hill, IL; his nephews Lantz (Deserae Seamon) Shidler of Hardinville, IL, Lucas Shidler of Flat Rock, IL, Logan (Lexie Gower) Johnson, Robinson, IL; Parker Johnson, Robinson, IL and Cole Johnson, Robinson, IL and seven great nephews and a great niece. Preceding him in death was his brother Scott Shidler in 2007; Grandparents, Ernie and Lucille Shidler and Charles “Chuck” and Margaret Rich.
Private family Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson was honored to assist the Shidler Family with these arrangements.
