The show took place at the Co-op Live arena, following on from an opening night in Dublin over the weekend. The gigs mark their first tour dates since 2022 and have been seeing frontman Trent Reznor and co. break out rarities across two stages.
Unlike the opening night at 3Arena, which opened with back-to-back renditions of ‘Right Where It Belongs’, ‘Ruiner’, and ‘Piggy’, the show in Manchester commenced with rare performances of ‘A Minute To Breathe’, ‘That’s What I Get’ and ‘The Fragile’.
The former is a cover of the 2016 track made by Reznor and bandmate Atticus Ross outside of NIN, and the performance marked the first time it had been played live at the band’s shows.
The performance of ‘That’s What I Get’ marked the first time the song was played live since 1991 and saw the band put a 2025 spin on it. The same was done for ‘The Fragile’, which hadn’t been included in the setlist since 2009.
The opening three tracks were performed at the smaller B-stage, located in the middle of the audience, while the second act took place on the main stage. Here, NIN played ‘Eraser’, ‘Wish’, ‘March Of The Pigs’, ‘Copy A’ and ‘Gave Up’, before heading back to the B-stage and joined by opening act and longtime collaborator, Boys Noize.
As seen in Dublin, the DJ and producer joined the band for renditions of ‘Vessel’ and ‘Came Back Haunted’, before also introducing a new addition to the list, playing ‘Branches/Bones’ for the first time since 2018.
The fourth and final act saw the metal icons play 1999’s ‘Somewhat Damaged’, 2007’s ‘Survivalism’, 2017’s ‘Less Than’ and 1997’s ‘The Perfect Drug’ all for the first time this tour, before ending the night with classic tracks ‘Head Like A Hole’ and ‘Hurt’.

News that Nine Inch Nails would be hitting the road again first emerged in January, when details of their tour plans leaked online. The members would hold off on confirming the dates until later in the spring due to the Los Angeles wildfires.
The shows come as the frontman revealed at the end of 2024 that the band were underway with writing new material – potentially signalling their first album since 2018’s ‘Bad Witch’ and the surprise 2020 ambient double album ‘Ghosts V-VI’.
Beyond work with Nine Inch Nails, Reznor and Ross have announced details of Future Ruins, a new festival that celebrates film and television composers. As well as featuring a performance from the duo – who have composed music for the likes of Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network, Soul, Challengers and more – others on the line-up include Danny Elfman, John Carpenter, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Cristobal Tapia de Veer, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein.
