CCHD Reminds the Public to Stay Safe as Heatwave Continues

By Tony Collins Jun 24, 2025 | 6:37 AM

(Undated) – Look out for the summer sun, heat and humidity as the “Heat Advisory” from the National Weather Service continues. With the forecast of temperatures in the 90’s and an afternoon heat index that will bump up against the century mark, the Crawford County Health Department reminds the public of some basic summer safety tips. Stay inside during the hottest parts of the day. Drink plenty of water, wear light colored loose fitting clothes, and take frequent breaks if working outdoors. Check on family, friends, and neighbors who do not have air conditioning. Check on outside animals frequently to ensure that they are not suffering from the heat.
