(Undated) — Gas prices continue to slip lower as Middle East tensions cool, according to GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan. De Haan says the national average price of gasoline has resumed its decline, with falling prices driven by easing tensions in the Middle East, just weeks after those same tensions had pushed prices higher. He says for motorists planning to hit the road for Independence Day, relief at the pump could expand as the holiday weekend approaches. GasBuddy is projecting a national average of $3.15 a gallon for July 4th. Currently, the national average is $3.17 a gallon. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.47 a gallon. Indiana drivers are paying an average of $3.22 a gallon.
