(Undated) — For many people, nothing beats lounging in the backyard on the Fourth of July with good friends and family. However, the ASPCA is reminding pet owners to look out for their furry friends. They say if your pet has a fear or aversion to loud noises, something as simple as turning on some soft music and moving your pet into an interior room with no windows can be helpful. They also offer several other tips, such as never leaving alcoholic drinks unattended where pets can reach them, not applying sunscreen or insect repellent products to your pet if it is not labeled specifically for use on animals, and keeping citronella candles, insect coils, and tiki torch oil products out of reach.
