(Palestine) — A glance at a cell phone led to a single-vehicle accident yesterday. According to Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, just after 11 a.m. yesterday, deputies responded to the accident at County Road 750 N near 1950 E in LaMotte Township. Rutan says that sixty-nine-year-old Roger Hodge of Palestine reportedly looked down at his cellphone to “see who was calling him” and stuck a concrete bridge guard on the south side of the road. United Lifecare Ambulance Service and LaMotte Township Fire Department were dispatched to the scene. However, Hodge refused medical treatment.
