Singer Jessie J has revealed her breast cancer operation was a success.
The popstar announced she had been diagnosed with early breast cancer last June. At the time, she said that “cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding onto the word ‘early’. I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period. I just wanted to be open and share it.” Shortly afterwards, the singer underwent surgery on June 24, and has been awaiting results since.
Now, in an emotional post on social media, Jessie J has confirmed that the cancer hadn’t spread. In a video showing her son Sky repeating the words “Mummy’s gonna be OK” taken the night before her surgery, Jessie J proclaimed in the caption: “I AM OK”.
“Happy tears are real”, she wrote. “Thank YOU for the prayers, the love, the well wishes, the joy and all the positive energy.”
She went on to say that her son was “my biggest ray of light and with you in my life the darkness will never win”, adding: “Lots of healing to go and one more surgery to make these cousins look more like sisters.
Jessie J then jokingly concluded: “But for now it’s gratitude time and I am changing my name to The LopJess monster”.
Jessie J underwent surgery after her show at the Summertime Ball 2025, which took place on June 15 at Wembley Stadium. The singer had also played an intimate, acoustic show at the Union Chapel in London last month.
This autumn, the singer is still scheduled to embark on her UK and European ‘No Secrets’ tour, which includes a night at the London Palladium. It will kick off on September 15 at Glasgow’s SEC Armadillo – get your tickets here.
The singer has previously been open about her health issues. Last July, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), saying the diagnosis “made me rethink my whole life”.
Before then, she had experienced several health issues, including a miscarriage in late 2021, going deaf in one ear and being temporarily unable to walk properly in 2020, and suffering a stroke at the age of 18.
