(Undated) — At a moment’s notice, any of us might be in a situation where we are the help until help arrives. According to Crawford Memorial Hospital, about twenty percent of people who die from a traumatic injury might have survived if they had received “bleeding control” from someone nearby. CMH Foundation Coordinator, Sheri Stodghill, says the Foundation is happy to be a part of the “Stop the Bleed” program.
These nationally recognized courses are designed to train bystanders in life-saving techniques to control severe bleeding before professional help arrives. Classes are taught by Dr. Preston Reilly and Mary Beth Reilly, RN. Stodghill says if your group or organization would like to host a “Stop the Bleed” program, please contact her at 618-546-2671.
