(Oblong) — The Village of Oblong is the latest recipient of a donation from ’54 Oblong. According to the Oblong-based charitable foundation, members awarded their “Summer ’25 Grant” to the Village of Oblong. The funds will be used for Phase I of a Special Needs Children’s Park at the small park located in the 300 block of South Range Street. They say Phase I includes a 6-foot chain link fence around the perimeter of the park. Future additions to the park will include features accessible to special needs kids. However, the park will be open to all kids and their families. Individuals or groups interested in helping with funding for the project are encouraged to contact Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, or Oblong Village Clerk, Stacey Brock.
