(Undated) – The Crawford County Health Department and the CDC are reminding the public to “Fight the Bite.” Bites from mosquitoes and ticks can spread germs that cause diseases like West Nile and Lyme disease. You can “Fight the Bite” by knowing the “enemy.” The CDC recommends knowing where to expect ticks, such as grassy, brushy, or wooded areas. Mosquitoes live throughout the continental United States and U.S. territories. They say everyone is at risk of being bitten by mosquitoes and ticks and getting sick from the germs they can spread. However, certain groups of people are at higher risk for disease than others. Learn more at CDC.gov.
