(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is up as we head into Labor Day weekend. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $3.21 a gallon, up six cents from a week ago. Here in Illinois, drivers are paying an average of $3.55 a gallon, up fifteen cents from the end of last week. Across the river in Indiana, the statewide average is $3.35 per gallon, nine cents higher than a week ago. Mississippi drivers are paying the lowest statewide average $2.73 a gallon. California drivers are paying the highest at $4.58 a gallon, up seven cents from last Friday.
