Gas Prices Continue Downard Trend

By Tony Collins Sep 16, 2025 | 6:48 AM

(Undated) — The nation’s average price of gasoline has fallen over the last week. According to GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, while gas prices fell in more states than they rose last week, the West Coast continues to face challenges, with Oregon and Washington seeing some of the largest increases due to regional infrastructure issues. He says the good news is that the transition to cheaper “winter gasoline” begins today across most of the nation, and with improvements underway on the West Coast, he expects average gas prices to continue declining in the weeks ahead in most states, assuming hurricane season remains quiet. The current national average is $3.17 a gallon.
