The cast of Peep Show have been announced to reunite for a special Christmas episode of The Great British Bake Off – with one major exception.

The iconic baking show will return for its annual Christmas one-off – and it’s revealed that the cast of beloved cringe comedy Peep Show will all compete against each other.

David Mitchell, Olivia Colman, Isy Suttie, Matt King and Sophie Winkleman are all set to participate in the episode. It will be the first time they’ve reunited since the show ended in 2015.

Robert Webb, who co-led the show alongside Mitchell as Jeremy Usborne, is notably missing from the lineup.

Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will return to judge their bakes, with Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond set to co-host as usual. More details about the episode’s showing times are soon to come.

NME last spoke to Mitchell and Webb about Peep Show‘s 20th anniversary in 2023, where Webb suggested a ‘Peep Show’ reunion could happen when Mark and Jeremy turn 70.

“We’ve always said that it would be funny to go back and see them as old men,” Webb told us. “Living in the same flat and having the same arguments… I think probably this side of, shall we say, 70?”

Mitchell, however, said that any reunion should be a “totally separate thing”, adding: “It’s nice that people still give a shit… I don’t want to tack anything onto the end of it. It would have to be a totally separate thing. I wouldn’t want it to drag the original thing down.”

Since Peep Show, Mitchell and Webb have started their new sketch comedy show Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping. Their first sketch show in over a decade, the cast also comprises of Kiell Smith-Bynoe (Ghosts, Taskmaster), Lara Ricote (Live at the Apollo), Stevie Martin (Starstruck), and Krystal Evans (Scot Squad).
