(Palestine) — A malfunctioning HVAC unit tripped an automatic alarm at Palestine Grade School. LaMotte Fire Department officials say that late Monday night, the LaMotte Fire Department was called to 205 S. Washington, Palestine Grade School, for an automatic fire alarm. They say that after a brief investigation, firefighters discovered a malfunctioning HVAC unit had produced smoke, which set off the alarm. The unit was secured, and further investigation revealed no further damage or hazard. The alarm was reset, Lamotte members cleared the smoke from the room, and all units returned to quarters just after midnight Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported.
