(Undated) — It may soon be time to add pontoons to your car. According to the latest “Hazardous Weather Outlook” from the National Weather Service, periods of showers and a few thunderstorms will bring “widespread rainfall” to the area through tonight. They also say there is a “marginal risk” for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, mainly along and south of I-70. Large hail, damaging wind gusts, and an isolated tornado or two are all possible. The “active weather pattern” is forecast to continue through the weekend, bringing “repeated rounds” of rain to the area, which could lead to flooding of low-lying areas. The National Weather Service says minor flooding is expected to develop along the Embarras River near Lawrenceville on Friday.
