(Robinson) — The Robinson Police Department has announced that they will once again participate in the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Robinson Police Chief, Eric Schmidt, says they are now selling T-shirts for $20 and hats for $15 to raise funds. He says additionally, this year they are selling shirt pins for $5 and raffle tickets for $10 for a 2026 Valor Max golf cart. Schmidt says the T-shirts and hats are available for purchase at the Robinson Police Department Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. He says they are also able to accept direct donations. He reminds the public that all proceeds and donations go to benefit the Special Olympics Illinois, and neither the department nor the city receives any monies from this effort.
