]Randall L. Doucet, of Robinson, Il, known affectionately to many as Randy was born on January 27, 1959, in Terre Haute, IN, to Phyllis Jean (Finkbiner) and passed away on April 1, 2026, in Robinson, Illinois, at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with pancreatic/liver failure.

Randy lived a life marked by faith, hard work, and a genuine love for people. He was a Christian man whose life reflected the values he held dear, and he carried himself with a spirit that was passionate, kind, and handy. Those who knew him will remember a man who was always willing to lend a hand, solve a problem, or offer a warm smile. His presence brought comfort and familiarity to many, and his steady character left a lasting impression on family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors alike.

He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, but Robinson, Illinois, became the place he called home throughout most of his life. Randy graduated from Robinson High School with the Class of 1977, and he carried the lessons of those years with him into adulthood. He was proud of his roots and the community that shaped him, and he remained deeply connected to the people and places that formed his life’s story. His journey was one of perseverance and purpose, and he met each season of life with determination and grace.

Randy spent many years working in several departments at Briggs Pottery in Robinson, manufacturers of porcelain pottery bathroom fixtures, where he became known as a dependable and valued worker. He took pride in doing his job well and in being part of a team that relied on his skill and commitment. When Briggs Pottery closed, he continued to work with the same steadfast spirit, serving as a farm hand for a local farmer. His willingness to adapt and keep moving forward was a testament to his character. Later, he followed his entrepreneurial dreams and became the owner and operator of Game Land on North Jackson Street in Robinson, a popular video and gaming venue that brought enjoyment to many in the community. Through this venture, Randy created a place where people could gather, laugh, and make memories, and he took great satisfaction in offering something that others truly enjoyed.

Randy’s survivors include his mother Phyllis Jean Crisp of Oblong, IL., his wife Paula G.(Waggoner) Doucet of Robinson, IL, whom he remarried just hours before his passing, his three sons, Eugene “Gene” of Robinson, IL; Andrew “Andy” of Oblong, IL; and Brandon of Robinson, IL; a daughter and son-in-law, Misty (Thadd) Ping of Oblong, IL; a grandson, Gavin Doucet of Robinson, IL; two half-brothers, Terry (Julie) Doucet, Oakwood, TX; and Kevin E. Sanders of Robinson, IL, and several nieces and nephews, who will all agree that Randy’s life was built on simple but meaningful virtues. He was passionate in the things he cared about, kind in the way he treated others, and handy in the practical sense that made him such a blessing to

those around him. Whether he was working with his hands, helping solve a challenge, or sharing his time and attention, he gave of himself freely. He understood the value of honest labor and the importance of treating people with respect. His life was a quiet testimony to the truth that a person can make a difference not only through great accomplishments, but also through everyday faithfulness and kindness.

Family preceding Randy in death is the man whom he called his father, Mr. Ellis Sanders.

In times of sorrow, the words of Scripture and the wisdom of faithful hearts offer comfort. Randy’s life reminds us of the promise found in Psalm 23, where we are assured that the Lord is our shepherd and that His presence is with us even in the valley of the shadow of death. Randy trusted in the Lord, and those who mourn his passing may take peace in knowing that he is now in the care of his Savior. His earthly journey has ended, but the love he shared and the faith he lived by remain as a lasting witness to his life.

As the poet Thomas Campbell wrote, “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” Randy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, in the memories of his work and his kindness, and in the many lives touched by his presence. His legacy is one of devotion, service, and love, and his memory will be cherished with gratitude and affection.

Those who knew Randy will remember him not only for what he did, but for who he was. He was a man of faith, a man of industry, and a man who cared deeply for others. May he rest in the eternal peace of God and may those who mourn him find comfort in the hope of everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
