GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, says we are likely to continue to see increases, warning that the national average could rise by double digits, potentially reaching the $4.20 to $4.35 per gallon range. He says at this point, the trajectory of fuel prices remains “highly uncertain.” The current national average is $4.17 a gallon, ninety-five cents higher than last year at this time. The statewide average here in Illinois is $4.42, ninety-four cents higher. It’s $4.14 in Indiana, eighty-eight cents higher than a year ago.
