KoRn have shared an animated music video for their Diablo 4: Lord Of Hatred anthem ‘Reward The Scars’.

The lore-heavy video features footage of KoRn playing their blistering new track, which turns Diablo 4’s Lord Of Hatred (AKA Mephisto) into a rampaging beast. A lot of comic book-inspired gore follows before new Diablo 4 heroes (a paladin warrior and warlock) take on the towering monster.

“I’ve played Diablo for years, so getting to step into that world creatively felt natural,” said KoRn’s vocalist Jonathan Davis. “I’ve always connected to the darkness in the game and the idea of confronting what lives beneath the surface – that’s something KoRn has explored in our music from the beginning. ‘Reward The Scars’ came out of our own writing sessions as a new KoRn song, and it became clear pretty quickly that it was a natural fit for Diablo.”

According to a press release, the track “hints at what’s to come”

“This collaboration came together naturally – Korn and Diablo live in that space of confronting darkness head-on,” added Blizzard’s Kevin Bjelajac. “With Lord Of Hatred, we’re telling a story about consequence, choice, and what it means to embrace – or resist – the pull of evil. ‘Reward The Scars’ captures that spirit perfectly.”

‘Reward The Scars’ is the first new music KoRn have put out since 2022’s ‘Requiem’ and comes ahead of their first UK and European headline tour in over a decade. You can find any remaining tickets here.

KoRn aren’t the only musicians who are fans of the long-running Diablo series. Back in 2021, Halsey performed their ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ track ‘Lilith’ live at The Game Awards as part of the Diablo 4 reveal. “As soon as Diablo 4 was announced, I knew I wanted to be a part of the lead-up and launch,” she explained. “Lilith is such an influence on my own art and has informed so many characteristics of my alter-ego. My family has spent many hours together in Sanctuary over the years, so I am here as a fan and as a collaborator.”

Diablo 4: Lord Of Hatred is out today (April 28) and the second expansion concludes the ‘Age Of Hatred’ saga. “As the hour of reckoning approaches, players are drawn into a final confrontation with Mephisto, the Lord Of Hatred, whose influence now threatens to consume Sanctuary entirely. What began as an act to contain evil now comes due—forcing players to face the consequences of that choice and determine the fate of a world on the brink,” reads a description of the update.

In other news, the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack is available to stream on Spotify, more than 19 years after the hit game was first released.
