(Undated) — Ameren Illinois is touting a new program that could save statewide schools money on their electric bills. The utility says the program, “Public Schools Carbon-Free,” works to eliminate extra energy usage and reduce costs for school buildings and district facilities. According to Michael Pittman with Ameren Illinois, the program is free to schools around the state and, in some cases, has already saved schools thousands. The assessment is available to K-12 public schools in the Ameren Illinois service territory. For more information, visit amerenillinoissavings.com.
