The BBB says it has received hundreds of complaints from consumers in Illinois about automatic car washes. Some report damage, which is not usually covered by the businesses. The BBB says vehicle owners should research any business and its owners carefully and visit the business website to see if it has a list of vehicle restrictions. They say automatic car washes can cause paint damage, mainly swirl marks from brushes picking up dirt and grime.
