Four Members of the RHS Girls Track Team are Headed to State

(Robinson) — The RHS Lady Maroons Track Team competed at the Monticello Class 2A Sectional on Thursday. Robinson finished 5th out of 18 teams. Head Coach, Sydney Beard, says four girls will be advancing to the state meet next Friday, including Mary Elliott in the 100, 200, long jump, and triple jump, Ella Tingley in the 800, Temperance Hughlett in the long jump, and Zoe Tuttle in the 100 hurdles. Beard also says that Mary Elliott set the school record in the long jump. The previous record was set in 2001 by Crystal Schnitker at 17 feet 9.5 inches. Elliott’s record-breaking jump was just over eighteen feet.
