Last month, Sabrina Carpenter took to Fortnite for a collaboration inspired by her ‘Short n’ Sweet’ world tour. ‘Juno’ and ‘Nonsense’ were added to Fortnite Festival as part of Season 8, while ‘Please Please Please’ and ‘Taste’ were available to buy via the Fortnite shop.
Players could also unlock Carpenter-inspired emotes, items and outfits. The pop star’s arrival in the online battle royale game saw fans meeting up for impromptu dance parties and people refusing to fight other players using the Sabrina Carpenter skin.

Now Fortnite has confirmed Carpenter’s return. The special Dance With Sabrina event kicks off this Friday (May 30) and will see players invited to join the pop star onstage of rhythm game Fortnite Festival for an “epic dance party”.
“Join Dance With Sabrina and you’ll be transported to an oh so sweet and cosy Sabrina Carpenter performance! Got rhythm? Prove it by dancing to the beat of Sabrina’s songs like ‘Bed Chem’ and ‘Espresso’,” reads a blog post from Epic Games. “As you match the beat, your heart meter will fill. At the end of each song, if you’re one of the dancers with the most heart, you’ll get a chance to contribute to the show as the dance leader, special effects pro, or video artist!”
The players who match the most beats during the whole show will get “bragging rights” when they appear side-by-side with Sabrina in the finale snapshot.
The Dance With Sabrina event starts at 8pm Friday and runs until June 16. Fortnite has also added Carpenter’s track ‘Bed Chem’ to Festival alongside a new emote.
You’ve heard of Bed Chem, but what about our… dance chem?

“Artists come to Fortnite to connect with their fans and create in-game music experiences that are authentic to their music and style,” said Epic Games’ Emily Levy in a statement (via Billboard). “When Sabrina came to Fortnite, we saw seas of Sabrina Carpenter Outfits populate matches and perform synchronised Dance Emotes, so we knew we had to celebrate this season with an epic dance party inspired by our players and their incredible energy.”
Speaking about her previous Fortnite collaboration, Sabrina Carpenter told Rolling Stone: “I’ve always found it exciting for fans to be able to interact and engage with music through different art forms and to interact in a way that’s genuinely fun. So, for the fans that haven’t been able to come to the tour, or to any new fans, this is such a special way to still be a part of ‘Short n’ Sweet’ world.”
She went on to say that while she hadn’t played Fortnite beforehand, she wants to see “icon” Dolly Parton added to the game. Playfully hitting back at comments about her Fortnite skin not being accurate, Carpenter (who is five foot tall) said: “My avatar is for sure height appropriate, as Fortnite characters are all around six foot three, which is actually how tall I am in real life too.”
Sabrina Carpenter wrapped up the European leg of her world tour earlier this year but will be back in the UK this summer for two gigs at London’s Hyde Park as part of the BST festival series.
In other news, Grand Theft Auto fans are celebrating the fact they now have less than a year to wait until they can play GTA 6.
