National Average for Gas Ticks Slightly Higher

(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is trending higher. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $3.17 per gallon, a nickel higher than it was at the beginning of the week. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.35, unchanged from Monday. Drivers in Indiana are paying $3.03 a gallon, down four cents from Monday. Mississippi has the lowest prices in the nation at $2.62 a gallon, while California has the highest, at $4.69 a gallon, both a penny lower than Monday.
