(Undated) — Despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the recent bombing in Iran, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded has slipped lower. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $3.17 a gallon, down two cents from Friday. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.41 a gallon, also two cents lower than Friday. Across the river in Indiana, the statewide average is three cents lower at $3.10 a gallon. Mississippi currently has the lowest prices in the nation at $2.71 a gallon, a penny higher than Friday. California has the highest statewide average, at $4.60 a gallon, two cents lower than the end of last week.
