Gas Prices Slip Lower Following Recent Spike

(Undated) – The statewide average here in Illinois is trending back down following a recent spike as a result of refinery disruptions near Chicago. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the statewide average is $4.03 a gallon, down three cents from Friday. Indiana drivers are paying an average of $3.62 a gallon, down four cents from Friday. The current national average is $3.48 a gallon, a nickel lower than the end of the week. Drivers in Mississippi continue to enjoy the lowest prices in the nation at $2.92 a gallon. California drivers are paying the highest prices at $4.58 a gallon.
