The Bear is officially returning for a fifth season – find out more below.

Less than a week after season four of the hit culinary comedy-drama series premiered, FX has announced a renewal for a fifth season, per The Hollywood Reporter. Plot details have yet to be announced.

The Hollywood Reporter also noted that season five is due to premiere sometime in 2026. FX chairman John Landgraf said in a statement to the publication: “The Bear continues to be a fan favourite worldwide, and their response to this season — as seen through incredibly high viewership — has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons.”

He continued: “Year-in and year-out, [creator] Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story.”

Season five’s confirmation comes as a minor relief to fans following season four’s massive cliffhanger that could change the trajectory of the entire series.

Season four of The Bear earned a four-star review from NME, with Victoria Luxford writing: “There’s a vulnerability to the gruff Carmy as he witnesses the world he created possibly outgrowing him. There are also soul-searching questions about self-sabotage. A series of quiet conversations culminates in a devastating back-and-forth with his mother Donna (Jamie Lee Curtis) that’s as powerful as anything you’ll see on TV this year.”

Lead actor Jeremy Allen White‘s major role will see him portray Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, out later this year. Speaking to Jimmy Fallon last week, the actor revealed that he received more texts after the trailer for Deliver Me From Nowhere dropped than he did after winning a Golden Globe for The Bear.

‘The Bear’ season four is available to stream in the UK on Disney+ now
