Eggs Prices are Lower Following March High

(Undated) — If you have picked up a dozen eggs recently, you’ve probably noticed prices are down. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data, consumers are paying on average $3.77 for a dozen eggs, which is down from March’s record-high prices. Officials say Bird Flu outbreaks in January and February caused the average price to skyrocket in March, but cases of the avian flu are more controlled now. The declining cost of eggs has also prompted many restaurants to remove temporary surcharges that went into effect.
