(Undated) — It’s “Fair Week” in Crawford County and the forecast is calling for “oppressive heat.” The National Weather Service says an “Excessive Heat Watch” will go into effect Wednesday and remain in effect through Thursday evening. They say dangerously hot and humid conditions will increase the risk of heat-related illness with daily heat indices of 107 to 115 on Wednesday and Thursday. The public is reminded to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Stay tuned to Classic Hits, WTYE, for the latest fair week weather information.
