“Heat Advisory” Remains in Effect

(Undated) — Dangerously hot weather remains in the forecast for central and southern Illinois today. The National Weather Service says highs could reach the 90s today, with heat index values in the triple digits. A “Heat Advisory” will be in effect for the central part of the state, while all of southern Illinois is under an “Extreme Warning.” The National Weather Service reminds the public to take extra precautions when outside, including wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing and limiting strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
