Heartworms has announced a new ‘Poetry Edition’ of her debut album ‘Glutton For Punishment’, as well as two UK headline shows for later this year. Find all the details below.
The South London artist and former NME Cover star (real name Jojo Orme) will release the new version of her acclaimed first record on September 19.
Speaking about the forthcoming expanded project, Heartworms explained: “Long before we went into the studio to record, I handmade [producer Dan Carey] a poetry book containing the lyrics to each of the songs.
“I wanted it to be a blueprint for what was to come – to give him an idea of where the album would take us.”
The musician went on to reveal that ‘Glutton For Punishment: The Poetry Edition’ would contain a ‘Beat Poem’, “stripped back versions” of the tracks and a remix. She added: “This deluxe edition is an homage to those early stages of creation.”
Heartworms has also announced that she’ll be seeing out 2025 with a pair of UK headline gigs.
“As this chapter and the year draw to a close, I will be playing two UK dates in December – my last shows for a while,” she wrote. “London and Manchester, let’s leave everything on that stage.”
Heartworms’ show in the capital is scheduled for December 7 at Scala in King’s Cross, ahead of a performance at Band On The Wall in Manchester the following night (December 8).
Tickets go on general sale at 10am BST this Friday (August 29) – you’ll be able to buy yours here. Alternatively, fans can access a pre-sale by signing up to Heartworms’ mailing list before 9am BST tomorrow (28).
Additionally, Heartworms has shared the official music video for ‘Glutton For Punishment’ track ‘Celebrate’. The black-and-white visuals were choreographed by Liv Lockwood (The 1975, Wet Leg, Aurora). Watch above.
Speaking about the atmospheric video, Lockwood explained: “Jojo is fearless, honest and incredibly generous with her fervour and trust.
“It was both organic and very cathartic in process, especially because we had been researching and working on movement and choreography for her live performances months before.”

She added: “It felt incredibly fulfilling to work on a video together; a natural progression and an opportunity to dig into the groundwork and pull out more moments.”
Heartworms has had a busy summer, with sets at festivals such as Glastonbury, Green Man and last weekend’s Reading & Leeds. The latter appearance was listed as a “must-see” slot by NME, praising the artist’s “brooding post-punk anthems that build an atmospheric undercurrent”.
Reviewing her Glastonbury performance, NME said that her “gothic, barbed spiderweb of sound perfectly suited the downpour and got one helluva rise out of the early revellers spilling up the hill. Who knew darkness could feel this good?”.
NME gave ‘Glutton For Punishment’ a glowing five-star review, too. We have also named the record one of the best albums of 2025 so far.
