Miles Kane has shared the “spiritual” new single ‘I Pray’ – check it out below.

The former Rascals frontman is set to release his new album ‘Sunlight In The Shadows‘, produced by The Black Keys‘ Dan Auerbach, on October 17 via Auerbach’s own label, Easy Eye Sound. You can pre-order it here.

So far, Kane has previewed the record with ‘Love Is Cruel’ and ‘Electric Flower’, now following it up with the soaring ‘I Pray’. Speaking about the new track, Kane shared that he had its infectious guitar riff ready before going into the studio with Auerbach.

“It really came to life once we got working on the track together,” he said. “As I’ve gotten older I’ve become a bit more spiritual and have realised it’s important for me to tune into that side of my life, so this song is about being able to embrace learning something new about yourself while staying true to who you are.”

The new single comes accompanied by a music video directed by James Slater (Sam Fender, Yard Act), which sees Kane goes back to basics in the simplistic visuals. “I wanted something straight forward for this video,” he explained. “No bells and whistles. I went back to Liverpool to film it and just wanted to perform with the band so the song could speak for itself.”

Kane sat down with NME back in June and summed up the essence of his upcoming album, saying he was “absolutely obsessed with it” and it had something for everyone.

“You’ve got your T-Rex glam rock-y ones that are like, ‘Wow!’, then there are slower moments,” he said. “There are two songs called ‘Always In Over My Head’ and ‘Walk On The Ocean’ which have almost a bit of a crooner-y Burt Bacharach vibe – they’re a bit [Last Shadow] Puppets-y as well. It’s got all the elements that I’ve shown over 20 years of making music and stuff. I feel it’s all combined into one.”

Kane is set to embark on a series of stripped back solo UK in-store shows next month. You can visit here for tickets and more information.

Kane recently addressed rumours of a Last Shadow Puppets reunion with Alex Turner, telling NME that while there were “no plans” for a reunion, “my door is always open”.

Arctic Monkeys frontman and Sheffield native Turner has played alongside Kane in the supergroup since its inception in 2007. They last released their album ‘Everything You’ve Come To Expect‘ in 2016, and performed their last show at Rock en Seine that same year.
