Gas Prices Fall Following Labor Day Surge

(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded has fallen. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $3.16 a gallon, down a nickel from Friday. Here in Illinois, drivers are paying an average of $3.50 a gallon, down five cents from the end of last week. Across the river in Indiana, the statewide average is $3.25 per gallon, a dime lower than Friday. Mississippi drivers are paying the lowest statewide average $2.69 a gallon, four cents lower than Friday’s average. California drivers are paying the highest at $4.57 a gallon, down a penny from last Friday.
