(Undated) — A Robinson man was arrested on Friday following the issuance of a “Governor’s Warrant.” According to Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, on Friday at around 3 p.m. Crawford County Deputies arrested forty-six-year-old Eric Fields of Robinson on a Crawford County Warrant for Escape. Rutan reports that Fields was extradited from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office in Vincennes, IN, and transported back to the Crawford County Jail. He says that after Fields refused to sign the extradition papers, at the request of Crawford County States Attorney, Cole Shaner, a “Governor’s Warrant” was executed by the Illinois Governor’s Office, allowing the authorities to take Fields into custody and deliver him to jail.
