(Undated) — The search for a Decatur man that led to some “tense moments” over the weekend has come to an anticlimactic end. According to Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, Braydon Shields was involved in a domestic dispute followed by an accident on Sunday, which rendered his vehicle inoperable. Shields then reportedly abandoned the car in the area of 1300th Avenue and 950 East in Robinson. Rutan reports that despite wild social media claims, Shields did not escape from the jail, and at no time was it “officially reported” that he was armed. Rutan also reports that Shields was located last night, taken to the jail for questioning, and given citations for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving Without a License before being released, having committed no “detainable offenses.”
