(Robinson) — The Robinson-Palestine Water Commission could be in line for a grant from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Acting Director, James Jennings, recently announced a new funding opportunity for projects addressing “emerging contaminants in drinking and/or source water in small or disadvantaged communities.” On the list of eligible projects is the Robinson-Palestine Water Commission’s project, which is estimated to cost twenty-seven million dollars. The grant, if awarded, would fund fifteen million dollars of the cost based on current numbers. For more information and to see the “Notice of Funding Opportunity,” visit the Illinois EPA website.
