Panthers Fall and Pioneers Forfeit in Saturday Football Action

(Undated) — Saturday High School Football action saw a pair of county teams come up short. The Oblong Panthers fell to 2-4 on the season with a 35-22 loss to Pawnee/Lincolnwood. The Panthers are slated to be back in action this Friday night for homecoming when they welcome Palestine/Hutsonville to Ron Welsh Field. The Palestine/Hutsonville Pioneers lost Saturday via forfeit to Martinsville and remain winless on the season. The RHS Maroons picked up a 39-19 win over Lawrenceville Friday night for homecoming. The Maroons will be back in action Friday for a road game at Newton.
