(Undated) — A Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputy has been placed on administrative leave. According to Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, Deputy, Ian Kasemyer, an almost two-year veteran of the department, has been placed on administrative leave, “pending a full investigation into the deputy’s on-duty actions.” Rutan says the investigation was initiated following a video shared on social media on October 5th, 2025. He says transparency and accountability are of the utmost importance to his office and this administrative leave is a “standard procedure” that allows for a thorough and unbiased investigation. Rutan says that the leave is a “neutral action” and does not indicate a determination of guilt or wrongdoing. He says the deputy’s service weapon and badge have been confiscated during the investigation. Rutan says no further information can be released at this time “to protect the integrity of the investigation and the rights of all involved parties.”
