(Undated) — The BBB is getting a jump on the holiday season by issuing an early scam reminder. The Better Business Bureau says that with Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday on the horizon, now is a prime time for scammers to attack those looking for a deal. BBB Investigator, Dan O’Brien, says this is the prime time for “shipping scams.”
According to the BBB, nearly 80 percent of holiday shoppers turn to online methods to find the best deals. O’Brien says this time of year, it’s important to stay “scam aware” and not just click on links sent via text message.
