By Tony Collins Oct 29, 2025 | 6:35 AM

(Undated) — As the government shutdown stretches into its twenty-ninth day, one of the casualties is SNAP benefits. A coalition of twenty-five states is suing the Trump administration over the suspension of food assistance benefits because of the government shutdown. The lawsuit filed Tuesday against the Department of Agriculture comes as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, is set to run out of money November 1st. It’s expected to affect some 42 million Americans. The lawsuit argues the suspension of the benefits is illegal and a clear violation of the Food and Nutrition Act. It calls on the USDA to use contingency funds to pay for benefits in November. Agriculture Secretary, Brooke Rollins, says the money just isn’t there. Rollins says more effort should go into reopening the government instead of filing lawsuits.

Maybe the Democrats should sign the CR like they always have instead of using it as leverage to make the Republicans pay for illegals..All they are doing is hurting the American people.
